Ahead of the release of Lover, the upcoming film starring Manikandan in the lead role, the makers organised a celebrity premiere show. While the film is due to release on Friday (February 9), it has been getting a good word of mouth promising it a favourable start. Many who have watched the film took to X (formerly Twitter) to praise the film. Lover is directed by Prabhuram Vyas in his feature film directorial debut. He had earlier made the web series Livin.

Lover gets strong word of mouth

While a section of the audience caught up with the film, Lover has been getting its much-needed favourable start before it begins with its box office run. With the film releasing for the Valentine Day weekend, many hail how the film will be a clear winner of the week.

One user wrote about the film, "#Lover is the most 'closest to reality' love drama that many would relate to. Very real and genuine. The characters, situations, solutions, everything looks real. Rakesh Gowthaman of Vettri Theatres praised the film and called it a "good love story detailing on a journey of a complex relationship" with Manikandan and Gouri Priya shining in the film throughout. "A movie for the teen gen," he added.

Besides Manikandan, the film also stars Sri Gouri Priya, Kanna Ravi, Saravanan, Geetha Kailasam, Harish Kumar, Nikhila Shankar, Rini, Pintu Pandu, and Arunachaleshwaran, among others.
