Starring Prabhas, and Deepika Padukone, Kalki 2898 AD is all set to hit the screens on June 27, 2024. Now, concerns are being raised about the film's runtime.
Kalki 2898 AD is just days away from its release. The pre-release event in Mumbai has further heightened the hype around the movie. We at OTTplay have already revealed that the censor screening of the film got a standing ovation from the board members. This has excited the fans even more, and everyone now wants to watch the film on the big screen.
On the other hand, we have also come to know that the runtime of the film has been locked at 3 hours 47 seconds. As the subject matter is wide, the makers decided to showcase the proceedings in detail. That is the reason such a lengthy runtime has been locked.

We have also come to know that Nag Ashwin shot footage up to four and half hours and he has cut it short to three hours to make the audience comfortable at the theaters. But would this excessive runtime affect the film's outcome is the biggest question. Audiences these days are smart and do not sit through the film if they are not interested. So, the makers keep their film under three hours.
But there are directors like Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who narrated the film for over three hours. The makers of Kalki are also quite confident, and one of the producers, Swapna Dutt says that the audience will be so immersed in the world of Kalki 2898 AD that they will not even think about the runtime of the film.
A massive pre-release event is being planned in AP, and very soon, the makers will announce the date and venue of the event. Prabhas has a massive fan following in Telugu states, and as the film also has Kamal Haasan, Amitabh Bachchan, and Deepika Padukone, the buzz for this film is at an all-time high.
