Directed by Josh Greenbaum, Strays will be the filmmakers next after Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar
Filmmaker Josh Greenbaum is returning with a full length feature film with a live action CGI hybrid, Strays. The update is that the movie will feature stars Will Ferrell, Jamie Foxx and Will Forte.
The stars will voice the characters in the adult-skewing comedy written by Dan Perrault (American Vandal). The movie will follow an abandoned dog who teams up with other strays to get revenge on his former owner.
Reportedly, Ferrell will play the role of the abandoned dog while Foxx plays a pooch who befriends the dog. Forte will play the role of a nasty human owner. The production has been completed and has gone into post production where the visual effects are being created.
Strays will mark filmmaker Josh Greenbaum’s follow-up to his feature film debut, Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar. Written by Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo, the movie received positive feedback from critics.
Ferrell was last seen in Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga the musical fantasy comedy which was co-written by Ferrell and Andrew Steele. He is also a part of the Apple TV+ miniseries The Shrink Next Door.
Jamie Foxx has a big project that is readying for a global release. The actor will reprise his role as Electro as he returns in the MCU’s Spider-Man: No Way Home which will hit theatres on December 17.
Forte was last in America: The Motion Picture the animated sci-fi comedy, where he voiced Abraham Lincoln.
