Will Asian Cinemas' success streak continue with the Telugu version of Suriya’s ET?

A few days ago, it was announced that the Asian Group, who have cemented their authority in film production, distribution arenas in Telugu cinemas over the years, had acquired the Telugu dubbing rights of Suriya's much-awaited action entertainer ET (Etharkkum Thunindhavan) directed by Pandiraj that features Priyanka Mohan as the female lead.

Will ET turn out to be a golden goose for Asian Cinemas? The film comes with a minimum guarantee value for sure. Suriya is certainly on a high with two back-to-back OTT hits Soorarai Pottru and Jai Bhim and his Telugu fans have been endlessly waiting to see his film on the big screen. That it's a full-on mainstream fare, aimed for the masses, is a big-time advantage for ET.

Suriya has gone one step forward to dub for himself in the Telugu version. Meanwhile, Pandiraj has proved to be a versatile filmmaker and his experience in handling the blend of family drama, action should work in the film's favour. Priyanka, with films like Sreekaaram, Gang Leader, is also a familiar face in Telugu cinema. D Imman's consistency with his music is another advantage. The supporting cast includes Sathyaraj, Vinay Rai, Saranya Ponvannan and Raajkiran.

The Asian group, in the recent past, had acquired the distribution rights of Siva Karthikeyan's Doctor and Rajinikanth's Annaatthe. While Doctor proved to be profitable for the group, Annaatthe's Telugu version Peddanna bit the dust. They had also produced the much-acclaimed Love Story, the sports drama Lakshya, in the recent past. ET hits theatres on March 10.
