Anees Bazmee is awaiting the release of his horror comedy film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Before the film's theatrical release, the filmmaker shared interesting anecdotes about the Kartik Aaryan-starrer. In a recent interview with Bombay Times, Anees recalled the time makers decided to make Bhool Bhulaiyaa's third installment. For the uninitiated, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 was planned even before the second part was released. Anees also discussed the possibility of Akshay Kumar's return to the franchise.
Will Akshay Kumar return to Bhool Bhulaiyaa world?
Discussing the possibility of Akshay Kumar's comeback to the Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise, Anees Bazmee said, "Maybe in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 4 (laughs)." The filmmaker called Akshay his 'friend' and mentioned some of his hit movies (Welcome and Singh Is Kinng) were made with the actor. Bazmee added that he wants to reunite with Akshay and that feeling is mutual.
Talking about Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, Anees recalled producer Bhushan Kumar telling him to work on part three before the second installment was released. "Kartik Aaryan, too, was looking forward to the sequel. I was excited with the idea, but I wanted to crack the perfect plot for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. I am not the kind who simply jumps onto the bandwagon...ek film achchi bani toh chalo dusri banate hai to capitalise on the film's title," he said.
Anees further mentioned that he is a writer first and then a director. Considering the same, a one-liner story is very important for him. "In the final story, I could see scope for a lot of drama, emotions, and comedy and I could visualize shooting it on a larger-than-life scale," added Bazmee.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and its box office clash
Meanwhile, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 also features Madhuri Dixit, Vidya Balan, and Triptii Dimri. Produced by T-Series Films and Cine1 Studios, the film is set for a theatrical release on November 1, 2024. It will clash with Ajay Devgn and Deepika Padukone's Singham Again at the box office.
