It's high time that streaming platforms use the digital medium to tell stories that matter and not churn out content that will merely get consumed because of its stars or the popularity of the genre. Though OTT platforms have gathered impressive viewership over the last few years, not many storytellers have used it for a constructive purpose and explored the medium to its fullest potential. aha's upcoming web show Qubool Hai aims to stand tall and set an example in this terrain.

Telugu OTT platform aha had unveiled the first poster of their soon-to-release show Qubool Hai on social media on Tuesday and it got many curious. The poster offers a glimpse into the life of a child-bride and below the same is a translucent glass hinting at the murky reality behind child marriages. The show has been created by Pingle Pranav Reddy, who has produced and also co-directed it along with Umair Hasan and Faiz Rai.

Mirage Media is presenting the show to discuss the pathetic situation of many child brides across the globe. In a series of tweets offering us a context to the show, they had added in their social media handle, "1 in every 5 girls are married before they turn 18. Worldwide 650 million girls and women were married in childhood. 100 million girls will still become child brides over the next decade. We need to act now. If not now, when? Over the next decade, more girls will be at risk of becoming child brides to old, rich men who are l̶o̶o̶k̶i̶n̶g̶ shopping, for "young virgins". Is this the life we want for these innocent, naive, young girls?"

aha hasn't announced the streaming date of Qubool Hai yet. Kartik Parmar is the cinematographer while Jerry Silvester Vincent has scored the music for the project. Other technicians part of Qubool Hai include Arvind Menon, Tanya Chhabria as editors, Rohan Singh, who handles production design, besides Lipsa Jain as the costume designer and Urmez Bhote as the art director. More details about the show is expected to be out soon.
