Pooja was last seen on Salman Khan's Bigg Boss OTT 2
Pooja Bhatt has come back in the limelight since her Bigg Boss OTT 2 stint. Once a superstar, she had left acting at the peak of her career. This left everyone confused and while Pooja too was in doubt, she bounced back nonetheless. The actress then became a director and she started her new innings in acting in 2021.
Pooja Bhatt dissed despite being a superstar
Pooja had started her Bollywood career at the age of 17. She appeared in Daddy, followed by Sadak and Dil Hai Ki Maanta Nahi. All the three films were a hattrick. The actress was a superstar till the age of 19 but when she turned 24, the industry started to write her off, stating that her career is over. This is even though her father is renowned filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt. “So I said this is the only industry in the world where at 24 when most people are just starting out, you have reached the height of stardom,” Pooja shared during her recent interview with Siddharth Kannan.
New innings at 25
When she turned 25, Pooja found a new passion, this time for direction. She helmed Tammannaa and her first directorial won the actress a National award. This brought back her self-confidence which was shattered by the industry her whole family has worked in.
The comeback
51-year-old Pooja made her acting comeback in 2021. She was reluctant to but became a rage when Bombay Begums released on Netflix. The actress was back with a bang and it all started with her liking the script of the show. “I thought it was over for me, and then Alankrita Shrivastava and Bornila Chatterjee sent me the script of Bombay Begums,” she shared.
To further bring her into limelight, Pooja then participated in Salman Khan-hosted Bigg Boss OTT 2. She became the fourth runner-up of the show. Pooja was also known for keeping her minimum but strong opinions on the show from time-to-time.
