With only three days remaining for the patriotic action film Yodha to hit the theatres, the makers of the movie are leaving no stone unturned to promote the movie. On Monday, the lead actors of the film - Sidharth, Disha Patani, and Raashii Khanna - arrived in Delhi where they spoke about the project in detail. While interacting with a fan, Sidharth was quizzed on why he hasn’t been featured in romantic movies for the past few years. Here is his witty response.
Sidharth, Disha, and Raashii met the students of Laxmibai College last evening. They were welcomed warmly at the venue. After settling down for an interaction with students and a few media persons, a fan asked Sidharth Malhotra why he isn't seen in romantic movies nowadays keeping in view of his recent successes namely Indian Police Force (2024), Mission Majnu (2023) and Shershaah (2021). Here is what he said.
Sidharth said, “It is happening by chance only. I am a little more drawn towards people in uniform. Nothing looks better than a man in a uniform or in service of the country. In Yodha, I don a fictitious uniform. I have played the role of an army officer and a police officer in my previous projects. In Yodha, we have created our own uniform with a commercial unit. That said, Yodha has a love story as well, as seen in the trailer.”
“My character is not a dry character. It does not completely focus on a love story, but we are promoting a Dharma Production so... maybe you should ask Karan Johar when he is making a romantic film for me to do,” he smiled and wrapped up the conversation.
Yodha, the upcoming action thriller film, is scripted and directed by Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha. It's being produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, and Apoorva Mehta under the banner of Dharma Productions. The recently released trailer showed how an off-duty soldier devised a strategy to defeat the hijackers on a plane and ensured the passengers survived.
