Tushar Hiranandani-directorial, Srikanth is all set to release on May 10, 2024, where Rajkummar Rao will be seen as Srikanth Bolla
Still from Srikanth
As Srikanth’s release is near, Rajkummar Rao is leaving no stone unturned to promote the biographical drama widely. This is the second time Rao has worked in a biopic. Previously he did Shahid (2012), which helped him achieve the prestigious National Award in 2013. He is back to carve a niche again in the industry again with Srikanth.
Recently during a conversation with PTI, the 39-year-old actor shared that when actors portray a real-life character, it becomes more challenging because people already know about that person, his nature, his personality, what his life is about, etc. So it needs more hard work to do a biopic because there is already a competition to make it look exactly the way that individual is. And when actors succeed in getting people’s compliments, it feels like an achievement.

Rao further shared that biographies are not like a responsibility, rather it's a duty towards the person whose life you are portraying because he has his people around who know him for such a long time.
Srikanth is the biopic of industrialist Srikanth Bolla, who is the first blind student from India to achieve a scholarship from Management Science at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), in the US. Later he came back to India and founded Bollant Industries. Srikanth is one of the highly anticipated films in 2024. Netizens have already flooded the internet sharing their excitement and eagerness.
The Stree-actor further shared that he still can't believe that he did a biopic on Srikanth Bolla. He can literally feel the hunger inside him to do more experiments as an actor. He would happily sign more challenging projects like Srikanth in the future. However, when he was asked if he would like to do any action genre, Rajkummar replied that if it has an amazing storyline, then he would definitely do it.
Pushing himself out of his comfort zone has always thrived Rajkummar Rao. When director Tushar Hiranandani first offered him Srikanth’s script, he knew at the very moment that it definitely won't be a sad film. Though it can make you cry a little, it will give you much more joy. And after watching the trailer, we absolutely agree to Rajkummar!
