Although unconfirmed, several reports are now suggesting that the Real Star plans on roping in a specific “pan-India” actress for UI and making things all the more special.
Upendra’s highly anticipated directorial UI has finally gone on floors as pictures from the sets of the film emerge on social media. The actor-director has returned to the director’s chair after seven long years, much to the delight of his fans, but there’s very little (almost nothing) divulged about the film’s cast, storyline, and other key details. In this vein, several reports are now suggesting that the Real Star plans on roping in a specific “pan-India” actress for UI and making things all the more special.
Upendra returns to sets as director after seven years, 'UI' is now officially on floors!
Yes, if the latest tabloid reports are to be believed, K.G.F: Chapter 2 actress Srinidhi Shetty will play the female lead in UI. There isn’t any official communication regarding the same and one would certainly have to wait for the makers to confirm or deny the same – however, considering that UI too is being mounted on a pan-India scale, one could expect a big name to be associated with the film as the lead actress.
But that isn’t all. The same reports also speculate that Upendra is also keen on working with Tamannaah Bhatia and that it could well be a call between her and Srinidhi Shetty for the female lead’s part in UI. Interestingly, Tamannaah’s Kannada debut, so to speak, too came about through Prashanth Neel’s K.G.F: Chapter 1 wherein she made a special appearance in the dance number Jokae but is yet to star in a full-fledged role in Sandalwood.
Srinidhi Shetty, following the grand debut in 2018 through Chapter 1, is said to be currently busy with as many as three films and has the Tamil film Cobra costarring Chiyaan Vikram, up for release this year (Tamil Debut). Tamannaah, on the other hand, continues to reap exciting opportunities across languages – she will be soon seen in the Telugu remake of Love Mocktail called Gurthunda Seethakalam alongside Satyadev Kancharana.
