After Harnaaz kaur Sandhu's historic win at the Miss Universe 2022 paegent, all eyes will now be on the newly crowned Miss Diva Universe 2022, who will be representing the country on the global stage next year.

On a starry night, Karnataka's Divita Rai was declared Miss Diva Universe 2022 and was crowned by the reigning Miss Universe 2021, Harnaaz Sandhu.

Interestingly, Rai, who will be representing India at the 71st Miss Universe 2022 pageant, will be crowned by Harnaaz Sandhu at the global event, too, if she wins the title.

For the unversed, Pragnya Ayyagari of Telangana has won the LIVA Miss Diva Supranational 2022 crown, whereas Ojasvi Sharma has become the Miss Popular Choice 2022.

LIFE AND BACKGROUND

Divita hails from Mumbai but was born in Mangalore. She has pursued her undergraduate studies from Sir JJ College of Architecture, Mumbai. Rai's interests include badminton, basketball, painting, listening to music and reading.

Divita Rai also consideres herself as someone who can adapt to new places and situations easily, according to an interview filed by ETimes. As a young girl, she had to change six schools, travel around and live in various cities within the country. She swears by the say, "fear change, embrace life, and live each moment to its fullest".

MISSION

The beauty queen dreams of making education accessible to one and all, and she credits her father for imbibing this desire in her. "My father harnessed its [education] power to break out of his financial circumstance and empower himself to earn and provide for his family," she told ETimes.

As for her life inspiration, Miss Diva Universe 2022 Divita Rai was quick to say that Miss Universe 1994 Sushmita Sen has influenced her greatly. Because, as quoted by the entertoanment portal, for "her strength, conviction in her abilities, and warmth that she exudes."

She also lookes up to Frida Kahlo and would like to be re-born as her, given a chance to do so.
