Aria Mia Loberti, the newcomer who is all set to make her promising debut with Netflix’s period drama All the Light We Cannot See recently opened up on her character and how she landed the role unexpectedly. The awaited series, which is set in the World War II era, is an adaptation of Pulitzer-Prize-winning novel penned by bestselling author Anthony Doerr.
Who is Aria Mia Loberti?
Aria Mia Loberti is a rising star who will portray the blind character of Marie-Laure LeBlanc in the Netflix mini-series. The exceptionally talented actress landed the lead role after auditioning via a self-recorded video clip. The visually impaired young actor emerged as the best for the special character among hundreds of other aspirants during the casting call.
Loberti, who is in her late twenties is a Rhode-Island native with an impressive educational background. Before landing her breakthrough role, Loberti was a scholar studying History in the field of Languages.

Aria Mia Loberti reflects on the responsibility of portraying a blind character to life. The protagonist is a French girl who lost her sight when she was young. The story unfolds from the perspective of a blind girl who fights the war atrocity with courage and inner strength.
Loberti spoke about her character in a conversation with CBS’s correspondent. “I’m immersing you as the audience into a culture and a mindset in which I live. It’s a lifestyle, it is not choreography, she said. She also explained the importance of inclusivity and fair chance to disabled actors who can bring the essence to the specially-abled characters.
“There are countless disabled actors, countless blind actors, and I think we need to make the opportunities for fair and equal jobs in the industry and beyond and to tell the stories authentically.
In the promo that released in April, Loberto can be seen playing the role of a radio broadcaster who fights against the odds with courage and hope.

Directed by Shawn Levy, the series also stars Mark Ruffalo in the prominent role of a protective father. Netflix’s All the Light We Cannot See is slated for a November 2 release date.
