While SJ Suryah is currently engaged to appear in prominent roles in many of the upcoming films, let’s not forget how he also gave us two iconic films in form of Kushi and Vaalee, starring superstars of today’s times Vijay and Ajith Kumar respectively. Kushi

Kushi is a 2000 Tamil romantic comedy film starring actors Vijay and Jyothika in the lead roles. The film's cast also includes Mumtaj, Vijayakumar, Vivek and Nizhalgal Ravi, and others. The Tamil version is the remake of Telugu film by the same name starring Pawan Kalyan and Bhumika Chawla. SJ Suryah had written and directed the original version as well. Kushi is about two individuals who are egoistic and respect their egos more than the love they have for each other. The film was commercially successful at the time of its release.

Vaalee

Vaalee is a 1999 romantic thriller film, written and directed by SJ Suryah in his directorial debut. The film stars Ajith Kumar in dual roles, along with Simran, Jyothika in her Tamil debut, Vivekh, and others. The film revolves around two identical looking twin brothers, with one of them being deaf and mute. While the other brother marries a woman and brings her to his house, she gets to know how her brother-in-law is lusting after her. Ajith's performances as both a hero and villain are one of the highlights of Vaalee, which made it commercially successful.
