Sajid Khan has been accused of sexual harrassment by a number of women including Mandana Karimi, Saloni Chopra, Rachel White and others.
The latest season of Bigg Boss, Bigg Boss 16, kicked off with its grand premiere last week. Despite the fanfare, a lot of fans were displeased when the line of contestants for the new season was announced. #MeToo accused and film director Sajid Khan was one among the contestants, and fans were displeased that the makers of the show chose to include him despite the seriousness of the allegations against him. Among the many women who accused him of misconduct, was the sister of late actress Jiah Khan.
Jiah was found dead in her apartment back in 2013. Her shocking demise was the subject of the BBC documentary Death in Bollywood, which included testimonials from her family, many of whom suspected foul play in her death. In the documentary, Jiah’s younger sister Karishma Khan had made some shocking revelations against Sajid.
Karishma recalled a traumatic experience Jiah had to face when auditioning for Sajid. She said that Sajid had asked her late elder sister to take off her top and brasserie, while Jiah was reading a script as part of rehearsals. The incident had left Jiah shocked, and she had come home in tears. But as she had already signed a contract, she was forced to do the film. Jiah had worked with Sajid on 2010’s Housefull.
Karishma had more distressing revelations about the filmmaker. She revealed that she had not been spared of harassment either. She recounted an incident when she had gone to Sajid’s house along with Jiah. Karishma had been 16 at the time and was wearing a strappy top. Seeing her leaning against the table, Sajid had stared at her and claimed that she wanted sex . Jiah intervened and defended her sister, and the two left after the traumatic incident.
