Kannada film 'Wheel Chair Romeo' has struck a chord with the digital audience. The trailer of the film was released more than a year ago but many have continued to recall the film's many punchy lines (mostly innuendo-filled), and with Mayuri Kyatari playing the female lead, the buzz about the film has seeped through the large TV audience well. And now, following a successful premiere at the recent edition of the Bengaluru International Film Festival (BIFFES), Wheel Chair Romeo is all set for a theatrical release on May 27th.

The film follows the wheelchair-bound protagonist who wishes to lose his virginity and expresses the rather awkward desire to his father. It is up to Suchendra Prasad, who plays the role of the father, to make sense of things and find a partner who's willing enough to help his son get lucky. The senior actor is ably supported by Tabla Nani, Rangayana Raghu, and many other talents in a film that promises many laughs along with a strong emotional narrative.

Mayuri Kyatari, the popular TV star known for shows like Ashwini Nakshatra, plays the part of a visually-impaired sex worker in the film. As seen in the trailer, it is her chemistry with the male protagonist that gives the story a new dimension and allows the film to discuss several poignant matters. Mayuri has continued to pick interesting roles following her debut in films back in 2015 with 'Krishna Leela'. She was last seen playing Dhruva Sarja's on-screen sister in Nanda Kishore's 'Pogaru'.

Kiccha Sudeep to collaborate with Ranna director Nanda Kishore again?

Wheel Chair Romeo has been written and directed by Nataraj who has previously worked as a dialogue writer on films like Romeo, Orange, and Zoom (all starring Golden Star Ganesh). Following the release of the trailer, Ganesh took to social media to praise Nataraj's efforts and also offer support to the team.
