What The Fish - Niharika Konidela roped in for Varun Korukonda’s directorial debut; here’s the first look

The wacky entertainer, produced by Vishal Bezawada, will be shot in multiple languages

Niharika Konidela has been quite active in the digital space, having produced shows like Oka Chinna Family Story and Hello World for ZEE5 recently besides playing a crucial role in Disney+ Hotstar’s Telugu adaptation of Dead Pixels this year. Nearly four years after she was seen in Chiranjeevi’s Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, the actress will be seen in a feature film again.

The actress will be back on the big screen with a film titled WTF - What The Fish, where she has come on board to play a pivotal role. First-time filmmaker Varun Korukonda is helming the film while also writing the story and the screenplay. The film is captioned ‘When The Crazy Becomes Crazier’. The first look of Niharika from What The Fish was launched today.

In the poster launched today, Niharika, sporting a glitzy costume, looks like a diva while the motif of the dollar symbol behind her creates curiosity. She’ll play a role named Ashtalakshmi a.k.a Ash. The filmmaker believes that the role offers Niharika abundant scope to perform in addition to a dose of action too. “I feel privileged to have a motivated Niharika on board,” Varun shared.

There’ll be multiple layers to her character, the director revealed. While the film was initially launched with Manoj Manchu as the lead actor, there has been no news about his involvement in the project later. Vennela Kishore essays another crucial role in the film produced by Vishal Bezawada under 6IX Cinemas. Surya Bezawada is the executive producer of What The Fish.

What The Fish will have a multi-lingual release across the globe. Fidaa fame Shaktikanth Karthick, who’s also composing for Avika Gor’s Umapathi (on December 29), has come on board as the music director. Other details about the cast, crew will be revealed shortly. Niharika, meanwhile, confirmed that she’ll produce films under her home banner Pink Elephant Pictures, soon.
