These will be permanent, brick-and-mortar outlets that will invite the public to try their food and drink, shop merchandise and also treat themselves to some immersive installations.
If the current model of Netflix allows you to enjoy all of its vast repertoire of content from the comfort of your home, the streamer's plotting something rather unique to get you out of that very dwelling.
According to Variety, Netflix has confirmed plans to open retail outlets which are expected to come to life and get running by 2025. These will be permanent, brick-and-mortar outlets that will invite the public to try their food and drink, shop merchandise and also treat themselves to some immersive installations centred around some of the platform's best titles like Squid Game and Stranger Things. And the outlets will be named 'Netflix House', with two of them currently planned to be launched in the US in 2025.
Of course, one gathers that Netflix House is the new entrant to the streamer's retail expansion plan, which has recently gained a lot of traction through the opening of pop-up locations like 'Netflix Bites', other immersive experiences like Stranger Things: The Experience and The Queen’s Ball: A Bridgerton Experience and even an e-commerce site for merchandise. Alongside, Netflix has recently concluded the reality show version of Squid Game which will have real contestants playing games similar to those on the blockbuster show. And one of them gets to walk away with a cash prize of $4.56 million.

Why's Netflix taking this route? Well, these properties, as they were, are meant to aid the company in marketing its main service of streaming - in short, boost subscriptions and make the brand a ubiquitous name by offering myriad kinds of "immersive experiences" around favourite shows and movies.
Netflix's roster of upcoming releases boasts multiple exciting titles such as Avatar: The Last Airbender, 3 Body Problem, The Archies and Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon, along with a whole range of original releases.
