What if Ilamparuthi and Eswar from Parking meet again? Makers release new scene to celebrate 75 days of Harish Kalyan-MS Bhaskar-starrer

The year 2023 saw several successful films helmed by debutants. One of which was debutant Ramkumar Balakrishnan's Parking, starring Harish Kalyan and MS Bhaskar in lead roles. The film was released on December 1, 2023, and to celebrate 75 days since it hit theatres, the makers released a scene that reimagines what would happen if the lead characters met again after the events of the film.

Parking team celebrates 75 days

Parking stars Harish Kalyan and MS Bhaskar as Eswar and Ilamparuthi, respectively, as neighbours whose male egos make them go to extreme lenghts. After a dispute erupts between the duo over a parking lot, Eshwar and Ilamparuthi start scheming against each other rather than opting for a compromise. The film opened to positive reception and critical reviews, and everyone appreciated the performances of the lead actors and how the film dealt with the topic of male ego in a nuanced manner.

To celebrate 75 days of the film, the makers released a scene titled “What if Ilamparuthi and Eswar meet again?” The one-and-a-half minute scene shows Ilamparuthi arriving with his family in his car to a theatre to watch a movie. While they are running late, he spots a car being taken out of a parking space. It so happens that it is Eshwar, along with his wife and newborn. Tension builds as their male egos come to the forefront, but just as they catch a glimpse of the newborn, they smile and their cars part ways amicably.

All about Parking

The thriller drama is helmed by debutant filmmaker Ramkumar Balakrishnan. Parking also stars Indhuja Ravichandran, Prathana Nathan, Rama Rajendra and Ilavarasu in pivotal roles. Sam CS has composed the film’s music, with Jiju Sunny as the cinematographer and Philomin Raj handling the editing. The movie is bankrolled by Sudhan Sundaram of Passion Studios and KS Sinish of Soldier’s Factory. Parking is currently available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
