Reason behind Sanjay Dutt's Exit From Welcome 3
While many franchises have found new life and been warmly received, audiences were particularly excited when Akshay Kumar announced he was bringing back his much-loved Welcome franchise. The news of Welcome To The Jungle, aka Welcome 3, intensified when it was reported that the movie would have a massive ensemble cast featuring almost every prominent comedy actor. Fans went crazy when they saw Sanjay Dutt joining the third installment alongside Arshad Warsi. The Munna Bhai reunion had everyone excited for the film. However, fate had other plans, and it was reported yesterday that Sanjay has now quit the movie and is no longer part of the film. It turns out we might have found the reason behind his exit.
Sanjay Dutt Quit Welcome 3 Because of Akshay Kumar?
If you have followed the news, there have been a couple of rumours around Sanjay Dutt’s exit from Welcome 3, with one suggesting that the Vaastav star chose to quit the film due to a fallout with Akshay Kumar. But if the latest reports are accurate, that is not the reason behind his departure. According to sources, Dutt has chosen to walk away from Welcome To The Jungle due to health concerns, not a fallout with Akshay or any other team member. As per a Hindustan Times report, a source has confirmed that Sanjay Dutt was indeed excited about Welcome 3 and wanted to be a part of the movie. However, after shooting for a day, he realised that the process was too draining for his body, which is still recovering from the aftermath of battling cancer. This happened months ago, and he was replaced by Suniel Shetty in the film, which has already wrapped up shooting.
A source said, “Sanjay (Dutt) was very enthusiastic about the film and had even begun shooting. Unfortunately, after completing just one day of filming in Madh Island a few months ago, he informed the director that he couldn't continue due to health reasons following his battle with cancer and the subsequent treatments. Although Welcome 3 is a masala movie filled with humour, it also involves a lot of action (Sanjay's character had a lot of action in the movie), which he didn't anticipate and found himself unable to perform.”\
The source added, "Arshad (Warsi) was quite happy to reconnect with his Munna Bhai co-star; however, it did not work out. As soon as Sanjay informed the team about his decision, Suniel Shetty stepped up to fill in for the former's role. The filming is almost done, and the crew is surprised as to why this negative news is doing rounds now because it all happened many months ago.”
