The makers of 7G The Dark Story, released the motion poster of the upcoming Tamil film starring actors Sonia Agarwal and Smruthi Venkat in the lead roles. The film is billed to be a horror thriller which will be written and directed by Haroon. A release date for the film is yet to be announced.

Motion poster of 7G is out

The motion poster of 7G promises that the makers are cooking a horror thriller with a lot of jump scares and sticking very much to the genre template. The glimpse is presented in the first person's viewpoint where we see the interiors of a posh apartment. As a look around the house is presented, with an eerie music playing, we are then shifted to a set of an occult practice and voodoo doll, and then to a haunted and dilapidated mansion. There are jump scares and ghosts shown in between, along with a photo frame of Sonia Agarwal's image.

Starring actors Smruthi Venkat and Sonia Agarwal in the lead roles, 7G is written and directed by filmmaker Haroon. Besides direction, he will also double up as producer of the film and back it under Dream House banner. It is interesting to note that the upcoming film's title is partly derived from Sonia Agarwal-starrer 7G Rainbow Colony, in which she played the protagonist Anita.

The technical crew consists of Kannaa as the cinematographer with editing handled by Biju V Don Bosco. Siddharth Vipin has scored the music for the horror thriller. The makers are yet to announce the release date of the film. It will be interesting to note how the horror genre is presented by the makers.

Tamil horror films in 2023

It is to be noted that 2023 did see some horror films but none of them made the mark. Tamil films like Pizza 3: The Mummy, DD Returns, Karungaapiyam, Chandramukhi 3 released in 2023. However, none of them were met with positive response. The year also saw the release of Vasanth Ravi-starrer Asvins which was hailed for its technical brilliance.
