Dimpi, the Hindi-dubbed version of the Kannada film Ninna Sanihake, starring Suraj Gowda and Dhanya Ramkumar, is the big release on Dollywood Play and OTTplay Premium this week
It was in 2021 that another member of the legendary Rajkumar family of Kannada cinema made her acting debut. Dhanya Ramkumar is the female lead of the romantic comedy Ninna Sanihake, in which she is paired with actor Suraj Gowda, who is also the director of the film. The movie marked Suraj’s debut as a director.
The film, which also stars Aruna Balraj, Manjunath Hegde, Rajinikanth, and Soumya Bhat in important roles, was launched with great pomp and show; it was attended by Dhanya’s uncles and popular actors, Raghavendra Rajkumar and the late Puneeth Rajkumar. The rom-com will be available to stream as Dimpi, the Hindi-dubbed version of Ninna Sanihake, on Dollywood Play and OTTplay Premium starting October 28.
What is Dimpi about?
The sweet rom-com is about two youngsters, Aditya (played by Suraj) and Amruta (played by Dhanya). Aditya and Amruta instantly find themselves attracted to each other and quickly fall in love. They decided to take the unconventional path of living-in together. But their path is anything but one filled with roses. With some thorns thrown in for equal measure, Aditya and Amruta find themselves in several tricky situations that threaten to take a toll on their relationship.

The review of the film
This breezy rom-com was received well by audiences and critics, who especially lauded Suraj and Dhanya’s acting skills. The sensitised handling of the female characters in this movie is what sets it apart. Supporting actors Manjunath Hegde and Rajinikanth have also done justice to their roles.
