Actress and singer Darshana Rajendran, who has mesmerised the audience with her charming vocals, recently teamed up with Little Things actress Mithila Palkar for rendering a Malayalam evergreen song. The Hridayam actress took to her social media pages to share a video of her and the Karwaan actress singing a cover song of legendary Malayalam actor Prem Nazir’s Kanmani Neeyen Karam Pidichaal from the film Kuppivala (1965).
Mithila and Darshana’s cover rendition has won the hearts of netizens, who especially hailed Mithila for aptly capturing the essence of the song. Darshana, who apparently flew to Mithila’s place, taught her the ‘cute little song’ for her Instagram musical series called ‘Small things with Big people’, where Darshana renders cover songs of popular tracks with her industry friends.
Darshana shared the video with a caption that read, “For my next #smallthingswithbigpeople I took some Babukka to @mipalkarofficial (sic)”. Mithila reposted the video on her stories and revealed, “This fav girl of mine came to town and taught a cute little song that we sang together (sic)”.
For the unversed, the original song Kanmani Neeyen Karam Pidichaal was sung by AM Rajah and P Susheela. The song, penned by P Bhaskaran, was composed by MS Baburaj.

On the work front, Mithila Palkar recently signed her debut Tamil film titled Oho Enthan Baby. The film is directed by Modern-Love Chennai-fame director Krishnakumar Ramakumar and stars Vishnu Vishal’s brother Rudra in his acting debut. The film’s puja was held recently and shooting of the film has also commenced.
On the other hand, Darshana Rajendran is set to headline director Thamizh’s upcoming film, which is based on acclaimed Tamil writer Perumal Murugan’s novel. The film stars Kanaa-fame actor Darshan and is based on a romantic storyline that explores the journey of two lovers from different communities who face challenges post their marriage. Darshana was last seen in director Krishand’s police procedural film Purusha Pretham.
