Farhan Akhtar plays the role of a boxer in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra directorial which is set for an Amazon Prime Video release.
Going by the posters and the teasers of Toofaan it seems that Farhan Akhtar has left no stone unturned to get into the skin of his character as a boxer. The actor-filmmaker is playing the role of Ajju Bhai aka Aziz Ali in this Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra directorial, which is set for an Amazon Prime Video release. In the latest video shared by the makers, Farhan undergoes an extreme physical transformation as he trains hard to become a boxer for the role.
In the video, Rakeysh is heard saying, "Boxing is a very unique sport. It’s not a sport for everyone." While Farhan talks about kick-starting his prep for the sport from November 1, 2018. The actor also says in the video, "We didn’t train for a film, we trained to be a boxer!"
For his power-packed role, Farhan trained with boxer-trainer Drew Neal. After a few months, the actor enhanced his game under the training of fight coordinator Darrell Foster. Akhtar also worked closely with fitness trainer Samir Jaura.
Overall, the multitalented actor-filmmaker made sure that he gets into the beast mode and shows his character raw and flawless.
Toofaan also stars Mrunal Thakur, Paresh Rawal, Supriya Pathak Kapur, Hussain Dalal, Dr Mohan Agashe and Darshan Kumaar in pivotal roles.
The film marks Farhan's reunion with Rakeysh after their blockbuster outing Bhaag Milkha Bhaag released in 2013. The film produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Rakeysh and Farhan is set to stream on Amazon Prime Video from July 16, 2021.
