The time preceding a crucial election season in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana is always packed with several releases that take a dig at political parties based on their loyalty. While Mahi V Raghav is gearing up to make a biopic on AP CM Jagan Mohan Reddy - Yatra 2 - in early 2024, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma too is helming a political satire Vyooham, based on the latter.

Vyooham stars Rangam fame Ajmal Amir, Manasa Radhakrishnan in the lead while Dhanunjay Prabhune, Surabhi Prabhavati, Rekha Nirosha, Vasu Inturi, Kota Jayaram, Elina Tuteja form the supporting cast. The film is produced by Dasari Kiran Kumar and is presented by RGV Den. The satire is gearing up for a theatrical release shortly.

A new teaser of Vyooham was unveiled today commemorating Independence Day. The film focuses on the various challenges that Jagan had to face to occupy the CM’s chair in Andhra Pradesh - the satire is packed with several lookalikes of Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan, Chiranjeevi and others. The glimpse has eccentric camera angles, provoking dialogues and a strange background score.

The film throws light on the political situation in Andhra Pradesh after the death of YSR, where three leading politicians are at loggerheads with one another and how Jagan needs to overcome the opposition from his superiors in Congress. The teaser ends with a line where Chandrababu’s lookalike claims there’s no need of backstabbing Pawan Kalyan, ‘he’s capable of doing that himself.’

Sajeesh Rajendran cranks the camera for Vyooham while Manish Thakurr is the editor. Some of other political films by Ram Gopal Varma include Lakshmi’s NTR, Amma Rajyamlo Kadapa Biddalu, Konda, Power Star. He’d recently remodelled his production office in Hyderabad resembling a jungle and called it RGV Den.
