Netflix released the official trailer of the animated musical film Vivo, which has Lin-Manuel Miranda and Zoe Saldana as part of the cast. The movie is set to drop on Netflix on August 6.
Miranda plays kinkajou, a honey bear who is on a mission to deliver a love letter composed in the form of a song by Andres (Juan De Marcos) to his old partner, Marta (voiced by Gloria Estefan). On the way he encounters many adventures and takes the assistance of Gabi (Ynairaly Simo).

Zoe has voiced Gabi’s overprotective mother with Michael Rooker voicing the villain Everglades python. Katie Lowe, Lidya Jewet and Olivia Trujillo essay three overzealous scout troopers in the movie that also has Brian Tyree Henry and Nicole Byer voicing a pair of star-crossed spoonbills and Leslie David Baker a Florida bus driver.
The score of the film is composed by Alex Lacamoire with Miranda composing the original songs. Quiara Alegria Hudes and The Croods director Kirk DeMicco have written the screenplay. Brandon Jeffords of Cloud with a Chance of Meatballs 2 fame is co-directing Vivo with DeMicco.
The film has been described as a story about friendship, family, courage and music. Miranda has been on a high this year since his Disney+ Hotstar film In the Heights released in June. He also has Encanto and Tick, Tick… Boom lined up to release later this year.
