Before the release of Pathaan, Vivek Agnihotri had taken a dig at Shah Rukh Khan's film over its Besharam Rang song.
Since Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan became a historic box office triumph, a lot of things have changed. Everyone was shocked when Kangana Ranaut, who is known for her outspoken views against Bollywood, praised the movie's success a few days ago. Now Vivek Agnihotri has also praised SRK and his outstanding performance in his comeback movie.
Prior to its debut, the newest action film from YRF experienced numerous challenges . The movie experienced a tsunami of criticism due to controversies and unjustified hatred towards Shah Rukh. But it was the public's backing and the excessive excitement around Shah Rukh's comeback that helped the action spectacular receive a historic response and continue to set records at the box office.
Vivek Agnihotri had criticised Pathaan prior to the film's premiere for its Besharam Rang song. He had posted a video criticising the song, saying it was offensive to Indian culture and provocative. However, in a recent viral video, Vivek shocked everyone by complimenting Shah Rukh Khan for the success of his movie and even calling out the people who called for a boycott.
Speaking on The Carvaka Podcast, Vivek Agnihotri said, “Pathaan worked purely because of the charisma and fan following of Shah Rukh, the way he marketed it and the way he took it on his shoulders that ‘it is my film and I am responsible for it’, which is pretty good.” He then took a dig at unnecessary boycott calls saying, “I also think that some credit (of Pathaan’s success) should also go to people who were making stupid statements against the film and people who were unnecessarily protesting and asking for a boycott.”
