Trisha joins Vishwambhara

Trisha has officially come on board for Chiranjeevi’s upcoming magnum opus Vishwambhara. The makers of the film took to their social media handles to announce that the Ponniyin Selvan actress has been roped in to play the female lead in the upcoming fantasy entertainer. Along with the announcement, the makers also shared a video of the actress being welcomed by Chiranjeevi on the sets in a caption that read, “Welcome on Board, The Gorgeous Trisha! #Vishwambhara (sic).”

Directed by Mallidi Vassishta of Bimbisara fame, Vishwambhara will see Trisha in a principal role. Interestingly, Vishwambhara also marks the reunion of Trisha and the Telugu superstar after an 18-year hiatus. The duo had last shared screen space in 2006 political drama Stalin.

Actress Trisha who reposted the photos from the sets, and expressed her excitement of working with the superstar once again with a caption that read, “What an honour it is to reunite with the one and only MEGASTAR after 18 years. Thank you so much for the warmest welcome Chiru sir.(sic)”

Apart from Trisha, the film is expected to feature five leading ladies opposite the Telugu superstar.

More about Chiranjeevi’s visual spectacle

From the concept video shared earlier, the upcoming film promises to be an epic fantasy film that exudes mystical vibes, something quite similar to Bollywood blockbuster film Brahmastra. The film is set to depict the story of Astras and celestial grandeur that we cannot wait to experience on the big screens!

The upcoming film’s screenplay has been penned by writer Sai Madhav Burra, who had earlier worked with Chiranjeevi in films like Khaidi No 150 and Syeraa. The fantasy drama also marks their third collaboration. According to sources, a massive budget has been allocated for the graphics work.

Academy Award recipient MM Keeravani is scoring the music for the film in collaboration with lyricist Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry. Acclaimed cinematographer Chota Naidu has cranked the camera for the fantasy flick.

As reported earlier, the film is slated to have a grand theatrical release on January 10, 2025.
