Vishnu Manchu was on the sets of Kannappa when a drone apparatus lost control and crashed into his arm to cause a severe injury.
Actor Vishnu Manchu was reported to have sustained a serious injury while shooting for a film in New Zealand. The 41-year-old actor was on the sets of Kannappa, his upcoming big-budget Telugu film, where a drone apparatus is said to have lost control causing its blades to injure his arm. In this vein, his father and fellow actor Mohan Babu has now come forward to offer an important update regarding his well-being.
The veteran actor took to social media a short while ago today (November 1) to share that Vishnu Manchu is "on the road to recovery" and that he will soon be back on the set to resume shooting.
"Grateful for all the love, wishes, and concern during @iVishnuManchu accident on the set of #Kannappa in New Zealand. By God's grace, he's on the road to recovery and will be back to shooting soon. Thank you for your support. ๐ Har Har Mahadev!" wrote Mohan Babu in his tweet.

Another report sheds more light on the injury by revealing that the accident occurred when the drone operator lost control of the system due to a signal discrepancy. As a result, the blades of the drone would "crash into his arm" owing to the proximity of the machine which, in this case, was being used to take shots from a close range for a greater cinematic effect. The nature of the injury in the same report is described as 'severe'.
Vishnu Manchu is currently receiving treatment in a hospital in New Zealand and the film's shoot has come to a sudden halt. Once he is through with the treatment, he is expected to take some more time to recover before resuming his duties.

Coming to Kannappa, the film, many would know that Vishnu is closely associated with the project and has assumed multiple other roles aside from being the leading man. His father Mohan Babu is producing the film under the 24 Frames Factory banner and Vishnu himself has co-written the story (along with Tanikella Bharani) and also the screenplay along with Mukesh Kumar Singh, who serves as the director. Kannappa is a period film whose cast also includes Madhoo and Mohan Babu with Prabhas, Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar slated to play cameos.
