Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Triptii Dimri, Bobby Deol, and others. The film, which was released in theatres in December received mixed feedback from the critics as well as audiences. The film was slammed by many for being misogynistic and glorifying toxic masculinity. Now, filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj has reviewed the film and stated that he 'hated' the film but also enjoyed it simultaneously.

Vishal Bhardwaj reviews Ranbir Kapoor's Animal

In an interview with FirstPost, Vishal said: “I have still not made up my mind what to feel about that film. Because I enjoyed it and at the same time I hated it.”

For the uninitiated, Animal will also have a sequel titled Animal Park. Recently, while talking about the same, Reddy revealed that the shooting of the film will start in the year 2026. “This is going to be bigger and wilder than Animal,” Vanga said as quoted by E-Times

The filmmaker further added that the audiences have changed over the years. "I think the recent hit film is Animal is all what you are saying is all there. And we have a typical hero too. That’s one of the biggest, hits of all time." He believes that people still watch and want to watch these kind of films. "It’s a big surprise that there is a huge audience for that kind of film as well," he added.

What is the plot of Animal?

The story of Animal revolves around a son and dad who share a toxic relationship. The film also has Bobby Deol as the antagonist who was loved for his performance in the film. The film is directed by Arjun Reddy and Kabir Singh fame Sandeep Reddy Vanga.

Netflix's film, Khufiya, starring Tabu, Ali Faal, and Wamiqa Gabbi was recently directed by Vishal. Later his web show, Charlie Chopra & The Mystery Of Solang Valley was released on SonyLiv which received positive reviews.
