The current year is a promising one of the firsts for S Shankar’s daughter, Aditi Shankar. The prominent director’s daughter is making a debut in the film industry with the upcoming Tamil flick Viruman. Earlier today, the makers have flagged off the film’s shoot on an auspicious note with a pooja, the photograph of which was shared by Aditi Shankar on her social media.

The newbie is definitely getting an illustrious start to her career, as her debut film has more than a few big South Indian names attached to it. Not only will she share screen space with award-winning actor Karthi, but the film will also be bankrolled by the popular actor Suriya and his wife Jyothika, through their production banner 2D Entertainments banner. The much-beloved actor was the one who had unveiled Aditi Shankar’s first look poster from the upcoming film on his Twitter handle, giving her a warm welcome to the industry.

Suriya’s lovely gesture was much appreciated by S Shankar as well, who lauded the former’s production banner and thanked him for his kind words.

According to The Times Of India, Viruman is touted to be a rural drama about the importance of relationships and family, which will take place in the southern parts of Tamil Nadu. The film features filmmaker M. Muthaiya in the director’s chair, who rose to fame with the 2015 controversial action drama Komban. It also has Karthi in the lead. Along with Karthi and Aditi Shankar, the drama will also star Prakash raj, Raj Kiran and Soori in important roles
