He reunited with Rasika Dugal, Abhishek Banerjee for the third season, now out on ZEE5
Humorously Yours, the comedy drama centred on real life experiences in the life of a stand-up comedian Vipul Goyal, was back for the third season on ZEE5 recently. Rasika Dugal, Abhishek Banerjee, Sahil Verma, Johny Lever, Anubhav Singh Bassi, Amit Tandon, Rakesh Bedi, Harsh Gujral, Jasmeet Singh Bhatia, Piyush Sharma were also part of the web original.
While discussing the reason behind the timing of a new season of Humorously Yours and the long breaks between each season, Vipul Goyal shares, “Initially, the extended gap was due to the COVID-19 pandemic. During this period, our writing team had completed the script, and we were actively seeking real stories or incidents to incorporate. Fortunately, ZEE5 came on board.”
Thanks to the support of TVF and ZEE5, Vipul Goyal and team utilised the time during the pandemic to finalise the script. “We shot the season last year, and it is finally getting released this year.” The story progressed from the previous season, with higher stakes this time. “While standup comedian Vipul Goyal was trying to settle in India, he’s now contemplating his next big career move.”
In the third season of Humorously Yours, Vipul explored overseas markets and planned a full-fledged US tour, introducing a bigger scale to the narrative. Additionally, Vipul has purchased a new house in Powai, and the season explores the challenges that come with managing a new lifestyle, including paying the EMI for the house and the expenses of the tour.
The show, which premiered on ZEE5 on December 22 last year, also includes interesting cameos from Bassi, Harsh Gujral, Rakesh Bedi sir, and Johnny Lever. “The season touches upon various relationships, from husband and wife dynamics to manager-to-manager interactions, and includes relevant discussions on crowd work and corporate shows.”
