Vipin Sharma plays an interesting role in the Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Avneet Kaur-starrer Tiku Weds Sheru, produced by Kangana Ranaut
Veteran actor Vipin Sharma recently played a pivotal role in the recently released film Tiku Weds Sheru, starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Avneet Kaur as leads.
As Nawazuddin and Vipin have had a long journey together since 2012 with the film Gangs of Wasseypur, the latter recalls the time when they met at an acting workshop.
Talking about his experience working with Nawazuddin in Tiku Weds Sheru, Vipin told OTTplay, "It was very interesting, and I was reuniting with Nawaz after a long time. Back in the day, Anurag asked me to do a workshop for the film Gangs of Wasseypur for 10 days with all the actors. That was the first time I met Nawaz, and he had a very important role in the film. During that time, we used to interact off-camera because we did not have many scenes together in the film. But I knew that he was a very dedicated actor, and I was very impressed with that. That time, for his role, he had to lose weight. I remember that in Banaras, I, Tigmanshu, and Nawaz were sitting at a shop, and though I and Tishu were eating garmagaram kachori and aloo, Nawaz did not take a single bite! How could someone resist such mouthwatering kachori and aloo from Banaras? I realised the kind of dedicated fellow Nawaz is."
In the film Gangs of Wasseypur, Vipin played the character of Eshaan Qureshi, and Nawazuddin was Faizal Khan, who played one of the pivotal roles in the whole story.
Recalling their second outing, Vipin mentioned, "We also worked together in another film called Kick, which was with Salman Khan and released in 2014. In that, I was playing his mama, Pradeep Gajra; that was kaafi mazedaar! After that, we did this film, Tiku Weds Sheru, and it was really enjoyable. We used to endlessly talk about cinema, filmmaking, stories, and, at the same time, life... We have a mutual respect for each other."
Sai Kabir is the director of Tiku Weds Sheru, which also stars Khushi Bhardwaj, Zakir Hussain, Shubhankar Das, Satish Nayakodi, and Aseem Dubey. It is streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
