Vinay and Suriya in a poster of the film
One of the reasons many movie buffs have been eagerly looking forward to Pandiraj's Etharkkum Thunindhavan was the much-hyped face-off between characters played by Suriya and Vinay Rai. The former essays the role of a family-bound lawyer who goes to any extent in helping people in his village, while the latter is a shrewd businessman who also happens to be a menacing womanizer.
Vinay was last seen in Nelson Dilipkumar's Sivakarthikeyan-starrer Doctor. He played a villain role for the first time in the super hit movie and won appreciation for his portrayal of the head of a human trafficking gang. Film lovers have been wondering as to how different he will play the character with grey shade this time.
In a video released by Sun Pictures, the movie's production house, the Unnale Unnale actor has opened up about his experience of working for the project. He said, "ET has a social subject addressed in it. It has wonderful acting from a huge ensemble of actors like Sathyaraj, MS Bhaskar, Madhusudhanan, Saranya, and so on."
Vinay added that Etharkkum Thunindhavan is going to be a really entertaining movie which has also touched upon moral values and social issues. "I have played as bad as I can because the person opposite me in the film is really a good actor. I know he has come up with his A-game. So naturally, I, too, had to bring my A-game while acting in the film."
Vinay signed off by saying, "I hope I have lived up to the makers' expectations. I enjoyed working in the movie and I'm sure you all will while watching it."
During the pre-release event of the film, Suriya was all praise for Vinay for not being hesitant in taking up villain roles despite playing hero in many movies in the past.
