Fast and Furious franchise star Vin Diesel stands accused of sexual assault, retaliation, and discrimination by a former assistant. The suit has been filed on December 21, early morning in Los Angeles
Vin Diesel needs no introduction. However, the renowned actor is currently in hot soup, over sexual assault charges from an ex-assistant Asta Jonasson. Though the accusations are more than 10 years old, as the incident took place in 2010, the plaintiff was empowered by the #MeToo movement and the protection of the Speak Out Act.
According to the lawsuit, Jonasson had been hired by Diesel’s company One Race in 2010 to work in close proximity with the actor as his assistant, in order to avoid unwanted paparazzi clicks and extra attention to his nightly endeavors with random, enamored women. But the job description she had been given for her hire was to organize parties, accompany Diesel everywhere he went, and be near him.
This was done in case pictures were clicked of him with other women, it would not incur any controversy as his long-time girlfriend was not there. The suit alleges that in September 2010, on a particularly frivolous night, Diesel was entertaining women in his suite at the St. Regis. However, after the other women left, an intoxicated Diesel groped her chest and forcefully kissed her.
Despite verbally and physically protesting, the actor’s sheer size and strength overpowered her. However, when the actor decided to move southwards, lifted her dress and tried to take off her panties, Jonasson screamed and ran for the bathroom. But he caught up with her and pinned her against the wall before forcefully putting her hand on his private part.
Despite withdrawing her hand and verbally refusing, Diesel continued to pin her against the wall while masturbating. Unable to bear the horrendous experience, Asta was released when the actor neared his climax. He went to the bathroom, turned on the sink and left soon after. He returned once to ask for his cell phone, which had been in his pocket, and he left with a “good job.”
Soon after, she received a call from the head of One Race, Diesel’s sister Samantha, who told her that the company no longer required “any extra help” and fired her. The incident was not the only one, as previously another One Race executive had invited her to bed, a situation she had promptly exited before it could escalate.
