Meera Jasmine's next - Vimanam

This is officially the season of aviation dramas. While Varun Tej’s upcoming pan-Indian film is an ode to the Indian Air Force, budding actor Sri Simha Koduri’s next Ustaad too revolves around a youngster’s ambition to be a pilot. We have another film that’s treading the same path - Vimanam. The Tamil-Telugu bilingual is the comeback film of Bhadra, Gudumba Shankar actress Meera Jasmine.

Anasuya Bharadwaj plays another crucial role in the film that also features Samuthirakani, Rahul Ramakrishna and Dhanraj in its lineup. Written and directed by Siva Prasad Yanala, the film is jointly produced by Zee Studios and Kiran Korrapati under Kiran Korrapati Creative Works. The film’s first promo, revolving around a conversation between a father and a son, was out today.

In the promo, Samuthirakani is introduced as Veerayya, a differently-abled middle-aged father who’s talking with his son Raju. The latter has big dreams to fly high, quite literally, and is amazed by how tiny the world looks from the skies. He tries to give a taste of it to the father by lifting his vehicle and scares him. Veerayya, who hails from a poor family. advises his son to study well to fulfil his dream.

The father-son drama in Vimanam tugs at your heartstrings and is both emotional, realistic. There are a few shots that suggest how the kid translates his dream into reality without revealing much. The universal nature of the story makes it ideal for a bilingual and the casting looks apt to reach audiences in multiple languages. The film will hit theatres on June 9.

Akshay Kejriwal, the head of the south Indian division of Zee Studios expressed his happiness to associate with KK Creative Works for Vimanam. He was confident it would take the audience on an emotional roller coaster ride. Charan Arjun scores the music and Hanu Ravuri is the dialogue writer. Vivek Kalepu is the cinematographer for the same.
