The hugely anticipated 3D spectacle Vikrant Rona is finally here and just as expected, social media is abuzz with reviews and opinions. For obvious reasons, the film has charmed all the Kiccha Sudeep fans who are super kicked at watching the superstar in his full glory, whipping up yet another mega entertainer. On the other hand, the film’s stark resemblance to the setting and storyline of RangiTaranga has been pointed out as one of its shortcomings by several netizens.

Coming to the merits of Vikrant Rona, Twitter has unanimously praised Anup Bhandari’s glorious vision and for allowing the subgenres of thriller and adventure to seamlessly blend in the narrative: be it the larger-than-life period setting or the superb action sequences, Anup has surely impressed everyone. Ajaneesh B. Loknath’s work as the composer would certainly be one of the main draws as many attribute the film’s magic to his superb score. In the same vein, cinematographer William David’s spectacular visuals, aided by Shivakumar’s inspiring production design, have been adjudged the main highlights by Twitterati.

That said, the film has also received its fair share of criticism from the netizens with many pointing out the flaws in the narrative. The RangiTaranga element seems to have bothered many and it is likely that this particular aspect of Vikrant Rona will divide its audience.

“Same as rangi taranga..One me watchable... But due to over expectation it may disappoint most audience,” said a user and highlighted that the experience wouldn’t be as grand as expected because of the aforementioned reason.

Another user shared a rather blunt opinion and said that despite all the embellishments of 3D and bigger sets, director Anup Bhandari has failed to put together a compelling entertainer.

In a nutshell, Vikrant Rona is a highly impressive film, mainly as a visual spectacle that has set a new benchmark for the technical aspects of filmmaking. Kiccha Sudeep has led the film from the front and has imbued a sense of command and swagger into it, only to be slightly let down by the lackluster writing. The core technical crew comprising Ajaneesh B. Loknath, William David, Shivakumar, and others have lent their expertise and elevated the film to a new level.

It would be interesting to see whether, or not, the reviews have any impact on the film's box office run. More updates to follow soon.
