The Kannada superstar was responding to a query about the Anup Bhandari directorial film’s global reach
The upcoming 3D fantasy action- adventure drama Vikrant Rona is releasing in theatres on July 28 in multiple Indian languages. But the Anup Bhandari directorial is also getting an English version meant for the global audience, for which, lead actor Kiccha Sudeep has been dubbing for his character. In that context, during the promotions of the film in Bengaluru, Sudeep was asked about the film’s pan-world reach and status.
Speaking to an online news media outlet, Sudeep said that Vikrant Rona is just a film that the team is looking at giving a global reach. “At the end of the day, all languages are our own, right. The question here is if we have the capacity to present it in these languages and promote it as well. If you are to release a film in multiple languages, it increases the spend by a few crores for each of those languages and even more if you have a Hindi version. The producer, Jack Manju has given us the strength to do the film in these many languages. Ultimately, we are making a very beautiful Kannada film and trying to tell the story globally,” he said.
With less than a month to go for the film’s release, team Vikrant Rona has stepped up their promotional activities. While they have been releasing different versions of the Lullaby song this week, Sudeep has been giving back-to-back interviews and speaking to as many media outlets as possible about his upcoming release. In fact, Sudeep has allocated two weeks for Karnataka promotions, and is expected to start touring the country starting July 11.
Also starring Nirup Bhandari, Neetha Ashok, Milana Nagaraj and Jacqueline Fernandez, among others, Vikrant Rona has been produced by Shalini and Manjunath Gowda for Shalini Artss, and co-produced by Alankar Pandian for Invenio Origin. Vikrant Rona was among the first Kannada films to go back on floors when relaxations were announced for shoots, in 2020. The team had created a bio-bubble of sorts, by restricting the cast and crew to the multiple floors that they occupied at Hyderabad’s Annapurna Studios for the shoot.
