The Pushkar-Gayatri directorial also stars Saif Ali Khan, Radhika Apte, and Rohit Saraf in significant roles.
Vikram Vedha which is gearing up for a theatrical release soon, is already generating a lot of attention. For a promotional event, the cast and crew travelled to Delhi where Hrithik Roshan spoke openly about the similarities between him and Vijay Sethupathi.
According to the Hindustan Times, he informed the reporters present, “For me, that’s not been my aim. It is not a thought in my head that I need to do with. I have just taken a part and done it like how I would do it.” He highlighted comparisons to Agneepath, another remaking he had a role in. He added, “That is what I did when I was doing Agneepath when everybody was worried about the comparisons, but when I like something, I take it and give it my all. Then whatever it is, it is okay,”
The actor did, although, add that he is convinced that he won't be able to match Vijay Sethupathi's performance of the part in the film. Hrithik continued, “I know how amazingly Vijay Sethupathi did the same part. I can’t in my dreams think that I would achieve that level. Yet, I have done my best and I am happy with what I have done."
Hrithik is clear that his adoration of Vijay's talent and portrayal did not have an impact on his approach to the part. In reference to the original, he claims that when approaching a character, one cannot just replicate what has already been done. He stated, "If you think ‘he did that so I will also do it’, that’s not a very intelligent way to go about it. The simplest way to go about it is to know that every individual is different. " He believes that if he approaches something the way he does, it will inevitably be innovative, unusual, and honest.
Pushkar and Gayatri have developed and helmed the action thriller flick. It is a YNOT Studios production, and Gulshan Kumar, T-Series, Reliance Entertainment, Friday Filmworks, and Jio Studios are the presenters.
The movie also has significant roles for Saif Ali Khan, Radhika Apte, and Rohit Saraf. R Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi starred in the 2017 Tamil smash Vikram Vedha which was remade in Hindi. It is claimed that an Indian folktale had an impact on it. Vikram Vedha will be released in theatres on September 30, 2022.
