Today, the team of Trivikrama, which is Crazy Star Ravichandran’s younger son Vikram’s launchpad, revealed the film’s release date. OTTplay had earlier reported that the film would most likely hit theatres on June 24, as per whispers in industry circles, and turns out, we were right.

In the presence of friends from the industry, including directors Chethan Kumar, Santhosh Ananddram, actor Sharan, among others, the team of Trivikrama, led by director HS Sahana Murthy and leading man Vikram, unveiled the release date poster of the film at a press briefing earlier today. Also at the event were actors Tara, Adi Lokesh, Sadhu Kokila, Akanksha Sharma and Vikram’s brother, Manu Ravichandran.

Trivikrama pairs Vikram with Akanksha Sharma, and is being released as a pan-India film with versions in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi. Speaking at the release date announcement, Vikram said that when he decided to do this project, there were three people who knew about it – his father, Ravichandran, Hattrick Hero Shivarajkumar and the late Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar. In fact, Vikram had met Puneeth on the set of Yuvarathnaa, where the late actor asked him in detail about the project and gave Vikram suggestions on how to execute it. So, it was only apt that team Trivikrama paid tribute to Puneeth during the event.

This, meanwhile, was not the first film that Vikram was meant to do. A debut with director Nagshekar, Novembernalli Naanu Avalu, had been announced way back in 2017, but it was stalled and the filmmaker instead made the same film to launch Abhishek Ambareesh. Called Amar, the film had Tanya Hope in the lead. Trivikrama took off a good two years later and was, subsequently delayed by the pandemic, but the film is now set for its theatrical release. Speaking at the event, Vikram said that he was nervous and excited about his impending debut and that he was hopeful of audiences coming to theatres and appreciating the effort that has gone into the making of the film.
