Vikram, Pa Ranjith's Chiyaan 61 to have Ilaiyaraaja or Anirudh as its music composer

After several months of speculation of Vikram and Pa Ranjith joining hands for a project, it was officially announced recently that movie is on, and that it will be bankrolled by Gnanavel Raja's Studio Green. The producer himself informed the news from his social media account.

Tentatively titled Chiyaan 61 a few pictures of the actor, director and producer posing together were also released during its launch. It was said that more details about the film will be announced later. The expectations surrounding the project is too high considering the track record of Ranjith and Vikram's talent.

Till date, Santhosh Narayanan has been the music director for all the five films helmed by Ranjith. However, looks like Ranjith might rope in another composer for this untitled project. Earlier, it was heard that Anirudh is the frontrunner. He was supposed to score music for Vikram's Mahaan but got replaced by Santhosh in the last minute.

Meanwhile, Ilaiyaraaja's name has also surfaced now with regard to composing music for Chiyaan 61. Bala's Pithamagan was the last project of Vikram, for which Raja had composed music for. Needless to say, fans of the star are excited and are looking forward to an official update.

Ranjith is currently busy with Natchathiram Nagargirathu which has Kalaiyarasan, Kalidas Jayaram and Dushara Vijayan essaying lead roles. Vikram, on the other hand, has Mahaan which is ready for a direct OTT release in January.

He has Cobra and Ponniyin Selvan too, in his kitty. An official announcement on the release date of both the movies is expected to happen earlier next year.
