Vikram alleged that the social media handles of the IIFA Award had picked Pariah’s poster, replaced his photo with Ranbir's, and replicated it for the latter’s Animal.
Vikram Chatterjee’s chiseled body for Tathagata Mukherjee’s film Pariah made headlines recently. Now Vikram’s photos are replaced by Ranbir Kapoor’s image in one of the posters of the film. In a social media post by the IIFA Awards in which they suggested a list of upcoming films, including Jawan and Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, Ranbir’s upcoming film Animal’s poster is also featured. Vikram alleged that the social media handles of the IIFA Award had picked Pariah’s poster, replaced his photo with Ranbir's, and replicated it for the latter’s Animal.
Vikram took to his social media and shared the IIFA Awards post and wrote, “Dear IIFA, with all humility….I claim this poster used for Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal to be from my film #PARIAH with Ranbir’s face on it. Being a fan of this man, I don’t mind it much, but he might, I’m guessing.”
While talking to OTTplay, Vikram said, “I am sure it is a mistake. It is a little unfortunate that a renowned establishment like IIFA has made this mistake. In fact, before this, another South Indian film’s poster imitated another pose of Pariah.”
Talking about Bengali film representation on national platforms, Vikram said, “I really hope that one day a Bengali film’s (maybe Pariah) poster will be featured on platforms like this and will be featured on the national platforms by its own merit. Nationally, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, even Punjabi and Marathi films get a lot more important than Bengali films. I hope one day Bengali films will also be lauded nationally for their own merits.”
Tathagata’s Pariah also features Sreelekha Mitra, Angana Roy, and others.
