Vijay’s Thalapathy 68: Mic Mohan to play antagonist in the Venkat Prabhu directorial?

Earlier, it was announced that Thalapathy Vijay’s next project will be helmed by filmmaker Venkat Prabhu, who is known for movies like Mankatha and Maanaadu. The makers have also been sharing regular updates about the cast ever since. Speaking of the latest, actor Mic Mohan is reportedly roped in to play the antagonist in the upcoming film.

Mic Mohan to play the villain in Thalapathy 68?

It was earlier said that Mohan would play a pivotal role in the Vijay-starrer. The latest buzz suggests that the Mouna Raagam actor will be essaying the role of the antagonist in the film. Although there has been no official confirmation on this yet.

Thalapathy 68 - Vijay and Venkat Prabhu’s first collaboration

Thalapathy 68 marks the first collaboration between the Leo star and the Mankatha filmmaker. It’s also been revealed that Vijay will be playing a dual role in the upcoming movie - that of a father and a son. In fact, the actor and director duo recently travelled to Los Angeles to explore de-aging tech in cinema.

Apart from Vijay and Mohan, the film will also feature Meenakshi Chaudhary, Priyanka Mohan, SJ Suryah and Prabhu Deva as key characters. Actor Jayaram will be seen sharing screen space with Vijay, after the 2012 blockbuster Thuppakki. An official confirmation regarding the other members of the ensemble cast is yet to be made by the makers.

AGS Entertainment is set to bankroll the project, while the film’s music is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Reports indicate that filming commenced earlier this month, starting with a song sequence, featuring Prabhu Deva and Prashanth. The team has now reportedly moved to South Africa for shooting.

Vijay’s Leo receives mixed reviews

Meanwhile, Vijay’s much-awaited action thriller film Leo finally released on October 19. Although the movie opened to packed theatres, it received mixed reviews from audiences and critics alike. The Vijay-starrer has reportedly earned nearly ₹135 crores worldwide on Day 1, breaking the opening day collection records for a Kollywood film.
