Vijay's Beast third schedule resumes in Chennai

'Thalapathy' Vijay is currently busy shooting for his upcoming movie Beast in Chennai. The film, starring Pooja Hegde as the female lead, is in its third schedule. The makers are shooting for Beast under strict COVID-19 protocols.

They had kickstarted shooting for the film in Georgia with a two-week schedule. However, the third schedule is expected to be as short as the second one.

Beast, which is likely to be a mass action thriller, has been helmed by Doctor director Nelson Dhilipkumar. It is produced by Sun Pictures.

The biggest highlight of the film is expected to be in Anirudh Ravichander composing the music of the film. Manoj Paramahamsa has been roped in as the cinematographer for the commercial film.

Beast is expected to release in theatres on Pongal in 2022. Interestingly, Mahesh Babu’s Sarkaru Vaari Paata and Pawan Kalyan’s next, tentatively titled Hara Hara Mahadev, are also likely to release around the same time. If all the three films release in theatres together, it will be one of the biggest clashes the Telugu cinema has seen.

Meanwhile, there is still no update on which OTT platform will stream Beast post its theatrical release.

Vijay was last seen in Master which was released on Amazon Prime Video in January 2021 after a short theatrical run. The actor is now likely to team up with filmmaker Vamshi and producer Dil Raju for a yet-untitled project, which is expected to be a Tamil-Telugu bilingual.
