Vijayanand will release as a bona fide pan-Indian film on December 9 in five different languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam.
Biopics have been a staple product of late in Indian cinema and looks like the Kannada Film Industry is now ready to jump on the bandwagon. A case in point is the intriguing Vijay Sankeshwar biopic titled Vijayanand which was announced back in 2021 with Rishika Sharma helming the project and Nihal playing the lead role.
As the film gears up for a theatrical release on December 9, 2022, the makers have released the maiden trailer of the film to offer a peek into the world of Vijayanand.
Vijayanand is a chronicle of the life and times of businessman and former Lok Sabha member Vijay Sankeshwar with his formative years and youth being the prime foci of the film. The trailer presents a glimpse of Sankeshwar's vibrant journey from humble beginnings to later owning the largest fleet of commercial vehicles in India (under VRL Logistics) and everything in between.
The film also lays major focus on Vijay Sankeshwar's life as the owner of multiple leading newspapers such as Vijaya Karnataka and its sister publication Vijay Times. Vijaya Karnataka, the Kannada daily, has remained one of the largest circulating newspapers in Karnataka since its inception in 1999.
Vijay Sankeshwar was awarded the Padma Shri, the country's fourth-highest civilian award, in the year 2020.
Rishika Sharma, who previously directed the horror film Trunk has written and directed Vijayanand and this will be her second collaboration with actor Nihal. Reportedly, producer Anand Sankeshwar was approached by many for the biopic rights but he was smitten by the sincerity that Rishika's script carried and the fact that it traverses many unknown territories of Vijay Sankeshwar's journey to the top.
Vijayanand will release as a bona fide pan-Indian film on December 9 in five different languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam. The film features Gopi Sundar's music and the cast also includes Anant Nag, Bharath Bopanna, Siri Prahalad, Vinaya Prasad, Prakash Belawadi, V Ravichandran, Anish Kuruvilla, Ramesh Bhat, Dayal Padmanabhan, Shine Shetty, and Archana Kottige.
