Vijay Sethupathi and Ranbir Kapoor to play roles in Ramayana.
We know that Ranbir Kapoor is set to portray the role of Lord Ram in the upcoming mythological epic, Ramayana. Joining the cast, Sai Pallavi is cast as Goddess Sita, while actor Yash will take on the character of the demon, Ravana. The production team is in talks with Sunny Deol to potentially play the role of Lord Hanuman in this epic trilogy. Additionally, actress Lara Dutta has been confirmed to play the character of Kaikeyi. With these developments, there is yet another update on the much-anticipated Ramayana.
According to a report published on Pinkvilla this afternoon, filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari is in talks with Tamil actor Vijay Sethupathi to play the part of Ravana’s brother, Vibhishana in Ramayana. “Nitesh Tiwari recently met Vijay Sethupathi and took him through the script and the world that he is looking to create with Ramayana for the spectacle. Vijay was blown away by the narration and the visuals and has shown his interest in the film,” revealed a source close to the development to the news outlet. Vijay is, however, yet to sign the dotted lines as he is figuring out the logistics and financials with the team.
Detailing further, the movie is scheduled to commence filming in March 2024, featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi in leading roles. The duo, along with other members of the ensemble cast, will initiate the production in March and continue shooting until the end of May.
Speaking at the Ram Mandir event, Ranbir Kapoor shared insights into his experience and briefly touched upon his desire to bring his daughter, Raha, to Ayodhya for Monday's grand occasion. Although actor-wife Alia Bhatt and Ranbir were the sole family members present at the consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla, the decision not to bring one-year-old Raha was likely influenced by her age, indicating a thoughtful choice by the parents.
