Soori, Vetri Maaran and Vijay Sethupathi
The crew of Vetri Maaran's much-hyped project Viduthalai is set to begin its last leg of shooting. According to a report in DT Next, the team is busy erecting the set of a village near Dindigul and the pending portions will commence from April 8. Vijay Sethupathi, Soori and Gautham Menon will participate in the last schedule which is likely to be completed in one stretch.
A few stills from the project featuring Soori and Sethupathi were unveiled by the makers a few months ago. The film, which is based on the novel Thunaivan written by B Jeyamohan, has Soori playing the protagonist for the first time in his career. He will be seen essaying a cop's role while Sethupathi is reportedly playing a naxalite in the movie.
Leading stunt choreographer Peter Hein will helm action sequences of the movie's final schedule, after which the team will begin its post-production. Velraj handles cinematography for the film which has music composed by Ilaiyaraaja.
Bhavani Sre, Prakash Raj and Chetan are others who play crucial characters in the project which will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi and Malayalam. Produced by Elred Kumar of RS Infotainment, Viduthalai is said to be made at a budget of around 50 crores.
Vetri Maaran's next film is Suriya-starrer Vaadi Vaasal, the test shoot of which took place at Chennai outskirts a month ago. Produced by Kalaippuli S Thanu, the movie which is based on the traditional sport jallikattu, too, has Soori essaying a crucial role in it.
The photos featuring Suriya, Vetri Maaran and Soori went viral on social media on the day the film's test shoot took place with several junior artists. The details with regard to other cast and crew of the movie is expected to be revealed soon.
