Vijay Sethupathi, who is recently seen in Maharaja, opened up about his favourite performances of Mammootty in a recent interview. Makkal Selvan’s revelations left the cine-goers excited.
Vijay Sethupathi made a grand comeback to the big screens with his latest outing, Maharaja. The National Award-winner, busy promoting the film, recently opened up about working with Mammootty in Turbo. During his recent chat with Gold FM, the talented actor extensively spoke about his favourite performances of the megastar, to the much excitement of the film fanatics. Interestingly, Vijay Sethupathi revealed that Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam, the Lijo Jose Pellissery directorial, is his favourite Mammootty film of recent times.
In his recent interview with Gold FM, Vijay Sethupathi revealed that he has watched all recent path-breaking films of Mammootty, including Kaathal: The Core and Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam. However, the Maharaja actor picked the Lijo Jose Pellissery directorial as one of his favourite films of recent times. The National Award-winner extensively spoke about the veteran actor’s performance in the film, referring to some of its best scenes. “What a film..!! I recommended it to many people,” revealed Makkal Selvan, in his chat.
“That film is like something else. I don’t think everybody can understand that film. Mammukka’s performance is on another level,” added the Jawan actor. Vijay Sethupathi added that he absolutely loved how Mammootty enacted a famous Sivaji Ganesan scene in Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam and how he oscillates between two characters. He further referred to the scene in which Mammootty’s character undergoes a major transformation amidst having ‘Rasam rice’. Interestingly, the actor also revealed that he watched Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam twice and noticed the significance of shadow in the film, the second time.

For the uninitiated, Vijay Sethupathi recently teamed up with Mammootty for Turbo, the megastar’s recent outing, which was directed by hitmaker Vysakh. For the uninitiated, the talented actor made a voice appearance in the film as the business partner of lead antagonist Vetrivel Shanmugha Sundaram, played by Raj B Shetty. If the reports are to be believed, the Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal actor might appear in a full-fledged role in the upcoming Turbo sequel, which reportedly features a superstar of Malayalam cinema in the lead role.
