The people of Karnataka woke up to shocking news on Monday, August 7, with the passing of popular film actor Vijay Raghavendra's wife, Spandana. It emerged early in the day that Spandana succumbed to a cardiac arrest while she was holidaying in Bangkok, Thailand.
Reports also informed that she would be rushed to a hospital in Bangkok for immediate medical assistance but, sadly, to no avail. The latest developments suggest that Spandana's family, including her father and brother, is reaching Bangkok to aide Vijay Raghavendra in these tough times and also carry the deceased's mortal remains back home.

As expected, the news has saddened not only the Kannada film fraternity but the entire public of Karnataka at large, with condolences coming in from all corners. In this vein, Vijay Raghavendra's brother and popular Kannada star Sriimurali has broken his silence and shared some information with the media.
"Anna (my brother) called me and all he said is this: Attige (sister-in-law) travelled to Bangkok along with her cousins and Anna has joined them after finishing his shoot. After spending time with all of them, she has gone to bed but would not wake up. It's due to low BP is what we believe and we will get to learn the remaining details once they return. But it's true that it all transpired in this manner," shared the Bagheera actor, who was visibly devastated by the tragic turn of events.
Only a couple of years ago, Sriimurali lost his cousin Puneeth Rajkumar to a similar incident, wherein the Powerstar passed away due to a fatal cardiac arrest.
Spandana's uncle, and former member of Parliament, B.K. Hariprasad (her father BK Shivaram's older brother), too, spoke to the media and conveyed the same information about the events leading up to her demise. He would also urge the media to refrain from rumour-mongering and also to wait until the autopsy/post-mortem report is produced before discussing her cause of death. He would confirm, however, that Spandana passed away due to a cardiac arrest.
Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah and several other noted personalities have now condoled Spandana's family via social media.
