Son of Sardaar 2 producer Kumar Mangat has declared a loss of Rs 2 crores for Ajay Devgn's film, courtesy Vijay Raaz
News of Sanjay Dutt being ousted from the sets of Son of Sardaar 2 made took the internet by storm not too long ago. Now, Vijay Raaz has confirmed that he was supposed to be a part of the movie but was thrown out within 30 minutes. While he claimed that the reason is because he did not greet Ajay Devgn, the makers have something else to say. Here's what went down...
Vijay Raaz shared to Pinkvilla that he reached Son of Sardaar 2 sets before time for trial. He met Ravi Kishan, who approached him, while Vijay was headed to his van. The director Vijay Arora and producer Kumar Mangat also went over to meet Vijay Raaz. The actor then recalled seeing Ajay Devgn with the creative team, 25 miles away from the van. Seeing him busy, Vijay decided to not greet Ajay and continued talking to his friends. The actor then recalled that 25 minutes into that happening, the producer informed him that he is no longer a part of the movie. "Mr. Kumar Mangat came to me and said, ‘Aap Film Se Nikal Jaaye, Hum Aapko Nikal Rahe Hai," he recalled happening. Vijay Raaz believes the only misconduct from his end was not greeting Ajay Devgn. "These are powerful people, and the chatter of misconduct doesn’t arise at all," he shared.
In response, Kumar Mangat called the story false by stating that Ajay is not someone who waits to greet people. He mentioned that the actor-producer likes to be surrounded by creative people, stressing that he likes to treat everyone with respect. The producer went on to declare that removing Vijay Raaz from the film cost them Rs. 2 crores of loss (advance salary to the actor which he refuses to pay back).
Kumar Mangat believed that Vijay Raaz was being disrespectful and unreasonable. He claimed that the actor kept asking for a bigger room in UK, bigger vanity van and overcharged the makers for spotboys. He then went on to state that Vijay then demanded 2 cars for three person staff. Kumar Mangat kept mentioning of Vijay Raaz's rude behaviour with even the executive producer and mentioned, "His constant response was, ‘Aap Logo Ne Mujhe Approach Kiya, Main Kaunsa Saamne Se Aya Kaam Mangne."
To Kumar Mangat's big room response, Vijay Raaz said that he does yoga every morning, which requires space. "26 years in the industry, can’t I make this demand?," he questioned.
The producer confirmed that Sanjay Mishra has replaced Vijay Raaz in the movie. Son of Sardaar 2, also starring Mrunal Thakur and Chunky Pandey, has commenced shooting and is on floors in UK.
