Fight Club is one of the most awaited Tamil releases in the OTT world. Starring Vijay Kumar in the lead role, the film is expected to start streaming on Disney+Hotstar soon.
Based on the current industry trends, the OTT release of Fight Club is expected to happen after completing a four-week theatrical window. Considering the film debuted at the box office on December 15 last year, it's safe to assume that the movie might be available for streaming right around the time of the Pongal holiday. An official announcement on the same is awaited.
Given that Fight Club has already ended its theatrical run, we can expect it to arrive on streaming no later than next week. But, there have been also instances, especially Disney+Hotstar as the digital partner, when new Tamil films stayed away from the OTT platform for about six to seven weeks.
Fight Club was in the making for nearly two years. However, it only saw the light of day in theatres, when director Lokesh Kanagaraj took over the production reins. Initially untitled, the movie went into production in 2021 and was set to be the first project under the banner Reel Good Films. But, it never made it to theatres.
Lokesh extended his influence and financial assistance under his newly-launched production banner, G Squad to the original producers of Fight Club, paving the way for a wide release. Lokesh also did a series of promotional interviews ahead of the release of Fight Club to spread awareness about the project.
